# Marketing The company's marketing department, run through Claude Code. It holds the marketing knowledge, the content, and the website. **Live site:** <https://mikeboe.github.io/marketing/> You do not need to be technical to use this. Open Claude Code in this folder and ask for what you want in plain language. Claude edits the files, publishes the website, and tells you when it is live. ## First time here 1. Run `/onboard-company` and answer the questions. This fills in who the company is, who it sells to, and how it writes — everything else depends on it. 2. Run `/setup-analytics` when you have your Google Analytics / Tag Manager IDs. 3. Ask for something: *"write a blog post about how we cut onboarding time"*, or *"change the headline on the homepage"*. ## What you can just ask for > "Write a blog post about X and publish it" > "Change the text on the about page" > "Add a landing page for our spring campaign" > "Write three LinkedIn posts from our latest article" > "How is the website doing this week?" > "Audit our site for SEO" > "Write Google Ads copy for our consulting offer" > "Set up Google Analytics" Changes to the website go live automatically, usually within a minute or two. ## Slash commands Type `/` in Claude Code to see them all. | Command | What it does | |---|---| | `/onboard-company` | Fill in the company context. Start here. | | `/new-blog-post` | Write and publish an article optimised for search and AI assistants | | `/new-page` | Add a page or landing page | | `/publish` | Push whatever has changed live | | `/setup-analytics` | Install GA4, Tag Manager, Google Ads tracking, cookie banner | | `/seo-audit` | Technical and on-page SEO audit | | `/geo-audit` | Audit for visibility in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, AI Overviews | | `/weekly-report` | Weekly traffic and activity summary | | `/new-campaign` | Plan and scaffold a campaign | | `/social-posts` | Turn an article into social posts | | `/ad-copy` | Write ads for Google, LinkedIn or Meta | | `/brand-check` | Check content against the brand voice before it goes out | | `/competitor-check` | Research a competitor and write up the profile | | `/content-calendar` | Plan the content calendar | ## Folder map ``` context/ The company's marketing memory — read before writing anything website/ The website. Changes here get published automatically content/ Social posts, emails, ads, press, drafts assets/ Image and file library campaigns/ One folder per campaign reports/ Analytics, SEO and ads reports research/ Keyword, market and competitor research docs/ Guides for the team .claude/ 70 marketing skills and the slash commands ``` ## The website Astro 7, published to GitHub Pages by a GitHub Action on every push to `main` that touches `website/`. Currently the **default Astro blog template** — deliberately, so it was up and deploying quickly. Design and content are the next step. **Not yet done:** - No analytics, Tag Manager or Google Ads tracking, and no cookie consent banner — run `/setup-analytics` - No Imprint (Impressum) or Privacy Policy page, both legally required in Germany - Structured data (Organization / Article schema) and `llms.txt` not implemented - Site still shows the template's placeholder branding ### Working on the site locally ```bash cd website npm install # first time only npm run dev # preview at localhost:4321/marketing npm run build # check it builds before publishing ``` ## Skills `.claude/skills/` holds 70 marketing skills covering ads, SEO, AEO/GEO, content, CRO, brand, research and reporting. Claude picks the right one automatically — you do not need to name them. 64 of them are vendored from two MIT-licensed open-source libraries and de-duplicated to one per topic. See [`.claude/skills/ATTRIBUTION.md`](.claude/skills/ATTRIBUTION.md) for sources, changes and licence texts. The six `site-*` and `marketing-context` skills are specific to this repository. ## Note on privacy **This repository is public.** Everything in it is readable by anyone. Never commit passwords, API keys, ad-account credentials, or personal data about identifiable customers. If you would rather the marketing context and drafts not be public, make the repository private — note that GitHub Pages from a private repository requires a paid GitHub plan.
