Section 2 — Legal status (Tier 1)
- Bangladesh Bank has issued public cautions that virtual currencies are not legal tender and that transacting in them can breach the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act 1947 and money-laundering rules. Crypto is therefore effectively prohibited / unregulated, not a recognised asset class.
