# Illustration (Krita) ## Toolkit on this machine | Tool | Use it for | Launch / CLI | |---|---|---| | **Krita 6** | Painting, sketching, inking, comics, 2D frame animation | `krita` · headless export `krita in.kra --export --export-filename out.png` | | **G'MIC for Krita** | Filters, colorize line art, artistic looks | Krita → *Filter → Start G'MIC-Qt* | | **Inkscape** | Turning finished line art into clean vectors | `graphic-design` skill → `vectorize.sh` | | **Eyedropper** | Sample colors from references anywhere on screen | `eyedropper` | | **libwacom** + GNOME Settings | Tablet pressure, mapping, buttons | *Settings → Wacom Tablet* (appears when a tablet is plugged in) | ## Scripts | Script | What it does | |---|---| | `check.sh` | Verifies Krita, G'MIC plugin, tablet support; lists detected tablets | | `new-canvas.sh <preset> <name>` | Creates a ready-to-paint `.kra` from a preset (`a4-300`, `square-4k`, `wallpaper-4k`, `thumbnail`, `comic-page`) | | `kra-export.sh <file.kra…> [png\|jpg\|webp]` | Batch-exports Krita files headlessly into `export/` | ## Guides - `references/krita-workflow.md` — setup, brushes, layer structure, sketch → line → flats → shading → finish. - `references/tablet-setup.md` — pressure curves and button mapping under GNOME Wayland. ## Quick defaults - Canvas: work at 2× the final size, 300 DPI for print, sRGB-elle-V2-srgbtrc profile for screen. - Save `.kra` often (Krita autosaves every 15 min — set 5 in *Settings → Configure Krita → General → File Handling*). - Keep reference images in a *Reference Images* tool board (the tool with the pin icon), not on canvas layers. - Export for web via `kra-export.sh`, then run the `graphic-design` skill's `optimize.sh`.

design-doctor

Health check and map of codeonym's whole creative toolkit on Arch Linux (graphic design, illustration, photo, UI, typography, print, Blender 3D, video editing, screen recording). Use when the user asks what design tools they have, whether everything is installed and working, which tool or skill fits a creative task, why a design tool misbehaves from the terminal (Homebrew shadowing ffmpeg/perl/python), or wants install commands for anything missing.

screen-recording

Professional screen and camera recording on codeonym's Arch workstation (GNOME 50 Wayland, AMD Vega VAAPI) with OBS Studio 32 and its plugin pack (advanced masks, composite blur, shaderfilter, source clone/record, freeze, 3D effect, stroke/glow/shadow, background removal, PipeWire app audio, Wayland hotkeys, advanced scene switcher, move transition), showmethekey for keystroke overlays, OpenScreen for Screen Studio–style auto-zoom demos, and GNOME cursor tweaks. Use when the user wants to record a tutorial, demo, course, talk or stream, set up or configure OBS scenes/profiles/filters, needs zoom-on-click or cursor highlighting, keystroke display, or wants to clean up a finished recording.

3d-modeling

3D modeling, materials, lighting, rendering and animation with Blender 5.2 LTS on codeonym's Arch workstation (AMD Vega iGPU — EEVEE on GPU, Cycles on CPU). Use when the user wants to model something in 3D, make product/packaging/device mockups of their designs, render stills or turntables, create 3D assets for the web (glTF/GLB for three.js / React Three Fiber), convert between 3D formats, prepare STL for 3D printing, or script Blender with Python.
