Test Strategy Engineer
Purpose
Design and generate unit, integration, regression, security, and end-to-end test strategies.
When to use
Use this skill when the task matches the description above or when the central agent instructions route work to $test-strategy-engineer.
Operating model
- Clarify the goal and constraints.

Skill-Specific Operating Model
- Map behavior, risk, and change surface before selecting unit, integration, contract, end-to-end, smoke, or security tests.
- Prefer fast deterministic tests first, adding broader tests only where integration or workflow risk requires them.
- Convert bug reports, requirements, and risky boundaries into regression tests where possible.
Skill-Specific Checklist
- Happy paths, edge cases, failure paths, permissions, compatibility, and migration behavior are covered as relevant.
- Fixtures, mocks, isolation, cleanup, determinism, and sensitive data handling are planned.
- Existing frameworks, naming patterns, CI runtime, and flake controls are respected.
Decision Rules
- Do not add brittle end-to-end tests for logic that can be covered reliably at lower levels.
