# X Article Titles Read the argument and evidence first. Identify what the reader will understand or be able to do after reading. Preserve an explicitly chosen title unless the user asks to change it. ## Make the promise clear A useful title can be an outcome, a question, a resource, or a supported bold claim. A how-to fits a reproducible guide; a personal title fits an experience-led piece. Do not force every article into the same family. For example, “How to Build a Company of AI Agents” centers a reader outcome. “How I Write Articles on X” centers the author's process and can be followed immediately by the author's own supported track record. Neither formula guarantees more traffic. Use “normie-maxing” as a working packaging principle: a broadly understandable entry point with specific depth inside. Broad is not vague. Introduce unfamiliar implementation details where they help the reader act, rather than stuffing every mechanism into the headline. Coordinate the title, thumbnail idea, and rough outline. The title states the promise; the visual explains part of it; the body fulfills it. If the title names a build or result, check that the draft contains the necessary instructions or evidence. ## Deliver Give a recommended title first. Offer only a useful number of distinct alternatives and a short rationale if requested. Include an opening only when relevant to the task. For “title, then my numbers,” preserve that exact order and use only the author's supplied or verified figures. Attribute estimates as estimates. Avoid invented urgency, unearned authority, borrowed personal results, and claims that a title alone causes virality. Use the author's language and constraints. Do not replace a narrow title request with an article plan. See [title examples](references/examples.md) for common starting points and corrections.
