| description | Develop product strategy by connecting target users, unmet needs, differentiated advantage, capabilities, constraints, sequencing, and measurable strategic bets. |
Product Strategy
Use when choosing where a product should compete and which outcomes deserve sustained investment.
Procedure
- Define the target customer/user and important unmet need or opportunity.
- Synthesize market, user, competitive, technology, and business evidence.
- Identify the product's differentiated advantage or credible path to one.
- Choose a small set of strategic bets and explain why they matter more than alternatives.
- Define capabilities or constraints required to make those bets work.
- Sequence initiatives by learning, dependency, and strategic leverage rather than feature volume.
- Define signals that would confirm, weaken, or invalidate the strategy.
Quality gate
Strategy must make choices. A roadmap that attempts every plausible opportunity is not a strategy.
