| description | Prepare a factual media brief with message, evidence, spokesperson guidance, likely questions, sensitivities, and response boundaries. |
Media Brief
Use before interviews, announcements, press outreach, or public responses to consequential events.
Procedure
- Establish the factual record, what is public, what is confidential, and who owns final approval.
- Define the primary message and two or three supporting facts.
- Identify likely journalist/public questions, including uncomfortable ones.
- Prepare direct answers that distinguish known facts, uncertainty, and matters that cannot be discussed.
- Remove speculation, inflated claims, and internally convenient language that will not survive scrutiny.
- Align dates, numbers, names, product status, and legal/security sensitivities with authoritative owners.
- Provide spokesperson guidance and follow-up materials where useful.
Quality gate
The brief should help someone communicate truthfully and clearly under pressure without inventing certainty or dodging legitimate questions.
