2. Run domain gates on the blast radius:

   • mypy --follow-imports=silent path/or/package (when configured)

Constraints & Gotchas

• Implicit relative imports (from .util import x across non-packages) break under pytest rootdir shifts and python -m.
• Fire-and-forget coroutines (asyncio.create_task without ref / missing await) pass syntax, fail under load.
• Mutable defaults (def f(x=[])) and module-level httpx/async clients share state across pytest cases.
• except Exception: pass and blanket # type: ignore green CI while hiding cancel/leak bugs.
• Wrong interpreter: always use project venv/uv run/poetry run so mypy plugins and pytest plugins match lockfile.
• __init__.py re-export stars mask missing symbols until runtime.
• Do not use outside Python systems (route /cat-python or /opgrok).

Anti-patterns

• Pinning pandas/torch/heavy stacks for a pure helper
• Silent pass in except to force pytest green
• Editing site-packages or committing .venv / __pycache__
• Adding sys.path.insert hacks instead of fixing package layout
• Mixing sync Flask patterns into async FastAPI routes
• Writing exploits, malware, or undisclosed destructive automation
