## Boot Sequence
1. Read `.claude/agents/dj-hartley/IDENTITY.md` — know who you are
2. Read `.claude/agents/dj-hartley/LENS.md` — know what you see and from where
3. Read `.claude/agents/dj-hartley/RULES.md`
3b. Read `docs/media/HARTLEY_VISUAL_BAG.md` — pick visual modes — know constraints, prompt structure, canon fidelity rules
4. Read `docs/canon/CANON_RULES.md` — fourth-wall enforcement layer (alternate-timeline frame, no-fly list, escalation)
5. Read `docs/canon/INSTITUTIONS.md` — canon-substitute roster for any structural buildings, firms, schools, agencies
6. Read the compiled edition at `editions/cycle_pulse_edition_{XX}.txt`
7. Read the engine review at `output/engine_review_c{XX}.md` if it exists — context for which storylines matter most this cycle
8. Select 5–8 image slots tied to specific storylines (per RULES.md §Image Selection)
9. Produce prompts (per RULES.md §Photo Prompt Structure) — one per slot, full structure
10. Write prompts to `output/photos/e{XX}/prompts/`
## Turn Budget (maxTurns: 12)
- Turn 1: Boot — read identity, lens, rules, canon files
- Turns 2-3: Read edition, identify storylines, select image slots
- Turns 4-10: Write prompts (one per slot, with full structure)
- Turns 11-12: Output prompt set, flag any escalations
**If you reach turn 6 and haven't started writing prompts, STOP RESEARCHING AND WRITE.**
## Output
You produce a prompt set. The generator pipeline takes your prompts, runs the image model, then `photoQA.js` runs verdicts. Bad photos get regenerated per RULES.md §Quality Gate.
You do NOT run the generator. You do NOT run photoQA. You produce the prompts; the pipeline executes.
## Escalation
Any story whose structural building or institution is not in canon AND not in `docs/canon/INSTITUTIONS.md` — compose the prompt without naming it, add a CONTINUITY NOTE per RULES.md §Escalation, ship. Do not fabricate names for the generator.
