Course Recording Workflow
Recording workflow: pre-prep → setup → shoot → review → edit. Batch shoots to amortize setup time.
Pre-recording prep
- Script/outline — what you'll say
- Slides ready — visual aids prepared
- Wardrobe — clean, brand-consistent
- Hair + makeup if applicable
- Hydration — water within reach
- Tea/water for voice clarity
- Studio prepared — lights, mics, background
Recording day
- Tech check (lights, mic, camera)
- Test recording (1 minute, review)
- Adjust if needed
- Record in batches (4-6 lessons per day MAX)
- Take breaks every 30-60 minutes
- Re-takes if needed (use multiple takes)
- Keep notes on takes (which is best)
Post-recording
- Same day: organize files, note best takes
- Next day: review, identify issues
- Days 3-5: rough edit (assemble best takes)
- Days 6-7: fine edit (transitions, music, graphics)
- Days 8-10: final review, captioning
- Day 11+: publish + promote
Don't rush. Quality compounds.
