Editorial CTA Language
Editorial CTAs use restrained, confident language. 'Begin' over 'Start your free trial'. 'Read more' over 'Click here'. The brand voice extends into action.
Editorial CTA patterns
Strong:
- 'Begin →'
- 'Read the analysis'
- 'See the report'
- 'Continue'
- 'Open the vault'
- 'Submit a card'
- 'View the demo'
Weak/Generic:
- 'Start your free trial'
- 'Get started'
- 'Sign up now'
- 'Learn more!'
Length and weight
Editorial CTAs are short (1-4 words). Bold weight on the action verb. Restrained styling (border or subtle background, not loud).
Length range: 6-15 characters typical. Avoid CTAs longer than 25 characters.
Hierarchy and pairing
Primary CTA: action-first, brand accent background, white text
Secondary CTA: text-only link with arrow, brand accent color
Tertiary: 'Or, [verb] [object]' as inline text
Never stack 3 CTAs of equal weight. Hierarchy matters.
