Lithium batteries are Class 9. Most common Class 9 freight today.
2019+ rule: lithium ion shipped at ≤30% SoC.
UN-rated. Terminals protected from short. Anti-vibration. DDR (damaged/defective) cannot ship by air.
Lithium battery mark (red border, ID# in middle). Class 9 placard for bulk.
2024+ requires UN 38.3 test certification documentation.
Applied in the X3 Compass Hazmat Center add-on.
