OCP Image Registry And Mirroring

Use this skill to ground OpenShift image, registry, and mirroring decisions in official OCP documentation for the active baseline in docs/PLATFORM_BASELINE.md.

Source Grounding

Read references/source-capture.md before using product behavior. Official Red Hat documentation is product authority. This skill covers OpenShift platform image distribution and registry configuration; component-specific image selection belongs in the relevant product skill.

Demo Image Posture

For this AWS-hosted RHOAI demo:

• Prefer official Red Hat product images and image references captured by the relevant rhoai-*, ocp-*, or odf-* skill.
• Treat the cluster image registry as an existing platform service unless the implementation explicitly needs registry configuration.
• Do not enable disconnected mirroring in the connected AWS demo by default, but keep mirror guidance available for future regulated or disconnected variants.
• Verify image pull secrets and registry trust before changing manifests.
• Do not commit pull-secret content or registry credentials.

Workflow

1. Confirm the active OpenShift baseline in docs/PLATFORM_BASELINE.md.
2. Read references/official-doc-extraction.md.
3. Identify whether the task concerns:
   • Image Registry Operator state or storage
   • image streams or image stream tags
   • image imports from external or private registries
   • pull secrets and registry credentials
   • registry trust or allowed/blocked registries
   • disconnected mirroring with oc mirror
   • mirror-set resources generated by oc mirror
4. For manifests, verify API versions and fields with official docs and active cluster schema.
5. For live operations, follow the OpenShift safety guard and pair this skill with the relevant env-* skill.
6. Validate with references/validation-checklist.md.
