Protocol

Purpose

Translate a technical estimate into a 3–5 minute client read without changing numbers.

Hard rules

1. Preserve numeric accuracy — no rounding that changes totals without disclosure.
2. Collapse lines into client-meaningful categories; keep a detailed appendix if needed.
3. Surface allowances, alternates, contingency, and payment structure.
4. Plain language; define jargon once.
