Procedural Workflow
Domain procedure
- Restate the ask as problem, user, and success metric (one sentence each).
- Read existing surface:
read_file on PRD/one-pager/issue; list_dir on product docs; gh issue view <n> --json title,body,labels when tracker-backed.
- MoSCoW the slice: Must / Should / Could + Non-goals (equal weight to Must).
- Draft acceptance as hireable checks: Given/When/Then or checklist items each sealable PASS|FAIL.
- Annotate backlog cut with risk vs value (one line per deferred item).

Constraints & Gotchas
- Goals without non-goals → infinite scope and thrash.
- Non-observable AC (“fast”, “delightful”, “intuitive”) cannot seal; rewrite to measure or drop.
- Hiding conflict in “phase 2” without owner/date recreates the fight next sprint.
- Lagging vanity metrics (raw clicks, LOC) optimize away from user value — pair metric to outcome.
- Pixel-level UI prescriptions before problem/AC lock block eng tradeoffs; specify intent + constraints, not CSS.
- Fake precision on unknown baselines (e.g. “+12% conversion”) without measurement plan is fiction.
- Do not use outside Product thinking (route
/cat-product or /opgrok).
Anti-patterns
- One-pagers that are feature laundry lists with no cut line
- AC that restate the feature (“user can log in”) instead of proving it
- MoSCoW where everything is Must
- Silent scope cuts mid-thread
