# Magpie Website intelligence for Claude — a free single-page website audit plus paid SEO tools, served over a hosted MCP server. This repo is the installable Claude plugin and its marketplace manifest. ## Install ``` /plugin marketplace add jezweb/magpie /plugin install magpie@magpie ``` That connects Claude to the hosted Magpie MCP server and adds the commands and skills below. ## Free vs Pro | | Tier | | |---|---|---| | **Audit** | Free, no key | `magpie_audit` — overall 0-100 score, real Core Web Vitals (PageSpeed/Lighthouse), on-page SEO, security headers, robots/sitemap, and WordPress-aware findings, as a readable report. | | **Rank tracking** | Pro | `magpie_rank_track` — your Google positions for given keywords, and how they move over time. | | **Keyword gap** | Pro | `magpie_keyword_gap` — keywords a competitor ranks for that you don't. | The free audit needs no key and runs anonymously. The Pro tools need an API key — set it as the `MAGPIE_API_KEY` environment variable and the plugin sends it automatically. Pro isn't open self-serve yet: join the waitlist at https://magpied.au/waitlist and Jezweb issues you a key. Run `/magpie:connect` for the full walkthrough. ## Commands - `/magpie:audit <url>` — free website audit. - `/magpie:rank <url> <keyword…>` — rank tracking (Pro). - `/magpie:gap <url> <competitorUrl>` — competitor keyword gap (Pro). - `/magpie:connect` — get a Pro key and set `MAGPIE_API_KEY`. ## For the agent Two skills carry the working knowledge — read them rather than improvising: - `plugins/magpie/skills/magpie-audit/SKILL.md` — run the free audit and consult on the results, highest-severity issues first, only ever relaying what the tool returns. - `plugins/magpie/skills/magpie-seo/SKILL.md` — interpret rank-tracking and keyword-gap tables, and handle the Pro upgrade flow honestly when a tool returns the locked payload. Hosted MCP server: `https://mcp.magpied.au/mcp`. The paid value lives behind the server — this repo carries no secrets and no keys. ## License MIT — see [LICENSE](LICENSE).
