Use

Use when the user asks a forecast-versus-stock question in their own language. Required inputs

None required. If the user names a specific SKU or facility, scope the analysis to it; otherwise evaluate all six SKUs across all four facilities.

Clarifying questions

• If the user wants only deficits, only surpluses, or both, ask if unclear from phrasing (default to both when the request is broad).
• If the user asks whether a SKU is "obsolete," clarify that this skill reports a lifecycle-risk signal only, not an obsolescence declaration.

Procedure

1. Use only the facility-and-SKU synthetic snapshot and the cost-and-review rules knowledge sources. Do not invent additional SKUs, facilities, or classifications.
2. For each SKU and facility, compute on-hand minus forecast. Treat a delta beyond ±200 units as material: a positive material delta is a SURPLUS, a negative material delta is a DEFICIT, and anything else is Balanced.
3. Report each material SURPLUS or DEFICIT with the SKU identifier (e.g. SKU-4402), facility, on-hand, forecast, and delta.
4. Report the fixed synthetic portfolio classification (velocity, strategic value, lifecycle risk) for SKUs with a material imbalance, calling out any classified SLOW-MOVING explicitly (e.g. SKU-4402 is SLOW-MOVING).
5. For any SKU with SLOW-MOVING velocity and ELEVATED lifecycle risk, recommend validating demand and reviewing vendor-return or controlled disposition eligibility, and explicitly state that this is a review flag requiring authorized lifecycle review and source-system evidence, not an obsolescence declaration.
6. Separate observed evidence (deltas and classifications) from recommendations (what to review) from the required authorization gate.
7. State plainly that every figure and classification is synthetic pilot evidence from a fixed snapshot.

Output

A table or list of material surpluses/deficits by SKU and facility, a portfolio-classification summary for the flagged SKUs, and a closing recommendation to review the proposed transfer plan with inventory and warehouse owners before any movement — with a note that no SKU is declared obsolete without an authorized lifecycle decision.

Safety boundary (no side effects)

This skill only classifies and recommends. It never reorders, transfers, returns, or liquidates inventory, and it never changes a reorder point or other inventory policy. Any follow-on action requires an authorized ERP/WMS system owner and an approved production tool.

Assumptions

• The ±200-unit material-delta tolerance and the fixed portfolio classification are pilot conventions from the synthetic knowledge source, not live business rules.
