Qiyan Lushi (Seven-character regulated verse) Composition

This skill provides the structure and rules for composing a seven-character regulated verse in Chinese.

Structure

• Exactly 8 lines.
• Exactly 7 characters per line.
• The poem must have a title on the first line (when outputting to a file, put the title first, followed by the 8 lines of the poem).

Rhyme

• Even lines (lines 2, 4, 6, 8) must rhyme on the last character.
• The first line may optionally rhyme.
• When specified, rhyming should be based on modern Mandarin (Pinyin) pronunciation, meaning characters with the same final vowel sound should be used.

Tonal Pattern (Ping-Ze)

• Follow standard Ping-Ze (level and oblique tones) rules for Qiyan Lushi.
• First and second tone in Pinyin are Ping (level). Third and fourth tones are Ze (oblique).

Parallelism (Dui Zhang)

• The second couplet (lines 3 and 4) must be strictly parallel in grammar and meaning.
• The third couplet (lines 5 and 6) must also be strictly parallel.
