Capture Note

Append a new observation to notes/ in this repo as a structured markdown file.

Steps

1. Determine the next ID. List notes/*.md (excluding README.md), find the highest NNN prefix, increment by 1. Zero-pad to 3 digits. If the directory has no notes yet, start at 001.

2. Infer fields from what Daniel said.

   • title: short summary (≤ 8 words).
   • slug: kebab-case version of title for the filename.
   • date: today, in DD/MM/YYYY format (Daniel's preferred format).
   • category: pick one of friction, feature-request, bug, praise, question. If ambiguous, default to friction.
   • severity: low | medium | high. Default medium unless Daniel signals otherwise.

3. Write the file to notes/NNN-slug.md using this template:

4. Confirm briefly — one line: Logged as notes/NNN-slug.md (category: X). Do not echo the full content back.

Conventions

• Preserve Daniel's voice. Don't rewrite into corporate-speak. Light cleanup of obvious transcription errors is fine; do not paraphrase.
• Omit empty sections rather than leaving placeholder text.
• Never commit automatically. Daniel will batch-commit when he's done.
• If a dictated observation clearly extends an existing note, ask once whether to append to that note or create a new one — don't guess silently.
