# Share a file
The shared folder is extra folder "shared", at /ws/shared. Every session of
every person can read and write it.
To share:
1. Pick a topic folder: `/ws/shared/<topic>/`. Make it if it is not there.
2. Copy the file in. Do not move the only copy out of your own folder.
3. Add a line to `/ws/shared/<topic>/README.md`: the file, who shared it, the date, and why.
To find what others shared: list `/ws/shared`, then read the topic folders' README.md files.
Never delete or replace a file someone else shared.
