ola-sense writes sense_state.json every 3s. Using that snapshot as the only foreground source freezes a just-started app (still on splash) as background. Decision lives in src/resource.rs and src/scheduler.rs.
dumpsys topResumedActivity first; sense_state is fallback only.same_app_pkg matches pkg and pkg:suffix (:push / :webview). Exact-name only is wrong.LAUNCH_GRACE): no freeze, no system-background cpuset, no bg nice.freeze_enabled=false. Bind/thread_boost may stay on. Do not turn freeze on at startup./proc/[0-9]*/cmdline as awk ARGV. toybox awk keeps ~256 files; 800+ procs drop the foreground and fg=0. Walk /proc in-process (proc_snapshot_walk) or ls /proc | awk.fg_pkg, do not freeze or cpuset-background this round.is_os_package (com.android.* / com.google.android.* / Lineage / Calyx / Qualcomm) is critical. Freezing GMS/AOSP apps causes ANR and starves the foreground.apply with freeze_enabled=true overrides boot defaults. Headless mode (/data/adb/ola/headless) ignores APK apply. Do not expand PPO ACTION_DIM.
