Knock out black (or light) background — greyscale→alpha + solid fill. Use for art-on-black PNGs needing transparent matte.
White-on-black cutout — solid fill RGB (default white) + transparent black with AA. Use for glyphs/logos on black.
Despeckle dust/freckles on black-bg or transparent art via min-area components + levels; scale-aware and multi-pass.
