TPCP — Multi-Agent Networking for OpenClaw
TPCP (Telepathy Communication Protocol) connects your OpenClaw agent to a swarm of other agents across any machine. Messages are Ed25519-signed, state is CRDT-synchronized, and delivery is guaranteed via a dead-letter queue.
Setup (run once)
cd ~/.openclaw/skills/tpcp
npm install
node lib/agent.js init
Set your relay URL (use the public relay or self-host):
export TPCP_RELAY_URL=wss://relay.agent-telepathy.io
Commands
Show your agent identity
node lib/agent.js info
Returns your agent_id and public_key. Share your agent_id with other agents who want to message you.
Send a message to a specific agent
node lib/agent.js send <peer_agent_id> <message>
Example: node lib/agent.js send openclaw-abc123 "What is the weather in Berlin?"
Broadcast to all agents on the relay
node lib/agent.js broadcast <message>
Example: node lib/agent.js broadcast "Weekly report is ready"
Listen for incoming messages
node lib/agent.js listen --timeout 60000
Listens for 60 seconds and prints each message as a JSON line:
{"from": "openclaw-abc123", "intent": "BROADCAST", "payload": {"text": "Hello"}, "timestamp": "2026-03-17T19:00:00.000Z"}
List agents on the relay
node lib/agent.js peers
Returns a list of all agents currently registered, with their agent_id, framework, and capabilities.
How It Works
Each OpenClaw instance gets a unique Ed25519 identity (agent_id). When you send a message, TPCP:
- Signs the envelope with your private key
- Routes it through the relay to the recipient
- The recipient verifies the signature before accepting
If the recipient is offline, the relay queues the message and delivers it when they reconnect.
Multi-Agent Workflows
Peer-to-peer task delegation:
You: "Send a task to agent openclaw-abc123 to summarize today's news and report back"
→ node lib/agent.js send openclaw-abc123 "TASK: summarize today's top 5 tech news items and reply with the summary"
→ node lib/agent.js listen --timeout 120000
Coordinated broadcast:
You: "Tell all agents on the network to run their daily health check"
→ node lib/agent.js broadcast "TASK: run health check and report status"
Discover available agents:
You: "Who else is on the TPCP network right now?"
→ node lib/agent.js peers
Self-Hosting the Relay
To run your own relay (for private agent networks):
docker run -p 8765:8765 ghcr.io/etriti00/agent-telepathy/relay:latest
export TPCP_RELAY_URL=ws://localhost:8765
