Resetting discards the learner's position, completed activities, exercise results, and recorded context. It is destructive and gated.
node scripts/progress.mjs status and be concrete ("you've completed
7 of 12 activities; all of that is discarded").node scripts/progress.mjs reset --confirm. The previous state is
archived as state/progress.reset-<timestamp>.bak, so an accidental
reset is recoverable by copying that file back to
state/progress.json.Never run the reset command speculatively, and never use it to "fix"
corrupt state — that's what node scripts/progress.mjs recover is for.
