| description | Read net collection rate, first-pass resolution, and days-in-A/R together, against benchmark, so a cash problem is diagnosed correctly. Reach for this on any collections question. |
Skill: Read the cash cycle
These three numbers, read together, locate a cash problem.
Step 1 — Compute net collection rate
Collected ÷ allowed (not gross); target 95–98%+ (§3 #4).
Step 2 — Compute first-pass resolution
Claims paid without rework; benchmark ~90%, high performers 95–98% (§3 #2).
Step 3 — Read days-in-A/R by bucket
Days-in-A/R under 30 is high-performing; read by aging bucket and payer (§3 #3).
Step 4 — Locate the problem
Attribute the cash gap to one of the three before prescribing.
Output
A three-metric cash-cycle read, benchmarked, with the problem located.
