Russian Books Downloader
Search and download Russian-language books from free online resources.
Workflow
- Ask the user what book they need — title, author, or topic
- Search across available sources (see references/sources.md)
- Try each source in priority order until found
- Download using the appropriate script or method
- Save to workspace and notify the user
Search Priority Order
- Flibusta (rus) — largest Russian book library. Mirror:
flibusta.is or use Tor
- pdfdrive.com — many Russian books, harder search
- openlibrary.org — some Russian books, borrow/download
- pdfcoffee.com / pdfroom.com — user-uploaded, check manually
- Литмир / lib.ru / ruslit.com — Russian-language sites
Available Scripts
scripts/search_pdfdrive.py — search and download from pdfdrive.comscripts/search_flibusta.py — search Flibusta via its API/mirrors
When scripts fail or don't exist yet, fall back to:
- Manual web search + curl download for the specific book
- Sourcing from user-provided links
Notes
- Russian books are often in FB2, EPUB, or PDF format
- FB2 is the standard format for Russian ebooks
- Convert FB2 to EPUB/MOBI if needed using Calibre
- Some sites (Flibusta) require Tor for access in some regions
