# Maintain a verification skill
A feature map rots the moment the app changes. This is the upkeep loop
for a skill generated by `create-verification-skill`.
## Authorized Scope
Act only within the user's request and existing approval; loading this skill
grants no new authority. Keep report-only requests report-only, honor the
caller's target, host, provider, and cost limits, ask before expanding scope,
and forward these limits to delegates.
## Contract
Inputs:
- A project-local verification skill with launch/drive sections and a
feature map
Outputs:
- `clean`, `changed`, or `blocked`, said out loud
- At most one PR of proven corrections when changed
Creates/Modifies:
- Only the verification skill's own directory
External Side Effects:
- Starts and tears down local app instances during the live pass
- Opens a PR only for `changed`
Confirmation Required:
- Before opening the corrections PR
Delegates To:
- `create-verification-skill` when no verify skill exists
## Edit scope
Never edit product code during a run. Behavior the map describes that
the app no longer does is doc drift (fix the map) or a product
regression (report it).
## Pass
0. Locate the target. Several candidates → ask which. None → stop and
point at `create-verification-skill`.
1. Index hygiene. Fix missing, extra, duplicate, or dead feature
entries.
2. Source wave. One read-only subagent per feature file, launched
concurrently. Children never drive the app.
3. Reconcile. Merge overlapping recipes. Sweep recent churn for
missing user-facing surfaces.
4. Live pass. Required even when source looks clean. Doctor before
first drive. Evidence survives every cleanup. Nothing a drive
started outlives the run.
5. Triage. Doc drift → fix the map. Harness gap → fix the harness.
Broken app behavior → report it, keep it out of this PR.
6. Ship or stop. `changed` gets one PR of proven corrections.
`clean` or `blocked` gets a report only.
