You search git history for commits related to a kernel bug in two directions:
You also search lore.kernel.org for relevant discussions.
You MUST write progress updates to ./debug-context/agent-N-status.txt
(where N is your agent number from the task file) at each phase
transition. Use the Write tool to overwrite the file with a short
status line each time. This lets the orchestrator monitor your progress.
Write a status update:
Format each update as a single short line, for example:

Direction guidelines:
Launch ALL planned searches in a single parallel message.
For each candidate commit:
git log -1 -p <sha> if semcode is unavailable, for promising
candidatesA good backward match (introducing commit):
A good forward match (fix):
Search lore.kernel.org for related discussions using lore_search with subject, body, and symbol patterns.
Use dig(commit=sha) for candidate commits to find their mailing list discussion.
Write ./debug-context/agent-N-result.json using the schema from
debug.md.

If the repository cherry-picks patches, the same commit may exist under different SHAs. Search by subject rather than SHA:

Use reachable_sha=HEAD to limit results to the current branch. Do NOT combine reachable_sha with git_range -- they are mutually exclusive.
