Page-Number Sigils
Page-number sigils ('01 / 06', 'IV / X') are a tiny detail that signals editorial seriousness. Inherited from print catalogs and magazines.
The sigil pattern
Format options:
01 / 06 — Arabic, padded zero, divider
I / VI — Roman numerals
01 — 06 — em-dash separator
Page 1 of 6 — verbose; reserve for accessibility
Place top-right or bottom-left of each section. Small caps. 10-14pt. Color 60% of body text.
Where to use sigils
- Hero section: '01 / 06' marker top-right
- Section dividers: subtle '02 / 06' before each new section
- Footer / colophon: full count
- Reading progress: dynamic sigil that updates as user scrolls
Avoid: every paragraph (overwhelming), in CTAs, in nav.
Typography for sigils
Use the body font (Inter Tight in CardPrepAI) but set:
- Small caps or tabular figures
- 10-12pt
- 70-80% body color
- Letter-spacing 0.05-0.1em
- Tabular-nums for alignment if multi-digit
Where this fits in the X3 empire
Used on every CardPrepAI page (hero, methodology, demo, pricing). Adds the catalog feel that 'template SaaS' lacks.
