Your Angle

Hunt:

• Motte-and-bailey — defends a modest claim but asserts an ambitious one.
• Dodged objection — an obvious rebuttal the argument conspicuously never engages.
• Loaded framing — emotionally weighted words doing argumentative work a definition can't.
• Authority / emotion substitution — an appeal standing in for reasoning.
• False concession — "of course X, but…" where X is never actually granted.
• Uncalibrated certainty — strong words with no acknowledgment of the argument's own limits.

The Line You Must Not Cross

A merely persuasive or confident style is not a finding. Rhetoric that accurately tracks a sound argument is [SOUND]. Flag framing only when it substitutes for or conceals an actual reasoning gap — a strong word is a problem only if the support behind it is missing, not merely because it is strong.
