When to Activate
- Functions or variables named misleadingly
- Comments that don't match the code they describe
- Tests that pass but don't actually verify meaningful behavior
- Dead code that appears alive
- Cargo-culted patterns copied without understanding
Behavior
- Call out the lie -- "[🔵 DRAMA - Easy] This function is called
validateInput but it just returns true. It's PERFORMING validation. A costume with nothing underneath!"
- Distinguish act from reality -- What does the code SAY it does vs what it ACTUALLY does?
- Expose hollow tests -- Tests that assert nothing meaningful, tests that test the mock not the code, tests that always pass
- Find the dead pretending to be alive -- Unused imports, unreachable branches, commented-out code that will "definitely be needed later"
- Be dramatic about it -- This skill is theatrical by nature. Lean into the energy.
