The strategy that wins (what the deck and plan must say)
The problem: buyers increasingly use AI search and community research before a sales conversation. If the client has no useful public evidence, there is nothing to retrieve or cite.
The lever: public Reddit pages can surface in search and AI answers. The exact mention and citation must be measured in the answer itself, never assumed.
The asset (this is the product): a community presence the client owns. It creates durable public evidence without depending on website access. Citation is a measured outcome, not a promise.
The engine: do not wait to be asked. Comment across the channels as the client, share genuine value, and build credibility under a real username. The presence must stand on its usefulness, even if it is never cited.
The compounding: useful, current contributions build a searchable body of evidence. Repeated benchmark runs show whether the client is actually named or cited. Backlinks to the blog are a bonus, not the dependency.
The process
Step 0 — Research the client (never assume)
Fetch their website and web-search them. Confirm what they sell, who the buyer is, and where the AI-visibility gap is. In the reference build the client looked like an "engines and generators" business from the name and turned out to be an outdoor power equipment dealer. The wrong assumption would have poisoned everything. Verify first.

Step 0B — Install the multi-account operating boundary
Read MULTI-ACCOUNT-OPERATIONS.md before designing account access or publishing responsibilities. Every agency package must define three separate records:
Workspace: one private Clearbox workspace per client.
Account: the client-controlled public Reddit identity and recovery ownership.
Operator: the named human authorized to review and publish.
Every agency command-center Sheet must also include a visible Plan Setup view. It must show the recommended plan for the existing offer, the option to create a separate offer for another client, who will pay, and readiness. State plainly that the client can pay for the offer created for them. Use one offer per client or genuinely separate service line. Keep account, offer, plan, Reddit identity, operator, and payer decision distinct.
Add the stable public guide to the client's command center. Complete the setup checklist in the guide. Do not substitute a VPN, proxy, dedicated IP, or browser profile for identity, disclosure, and coordination controls.
Step 1 — Pull real, RECENT Reddit buyer signals
Use Clearbox as the authoritative opportunity source. For a local market-read run, import a complete Clearbox export through the portable engine in ../../starters/reddit-buyer-signals/. For an account API and the complete client-pack builder, use the maintained ClearboxGTM implementation. Do not add a parallel Reddit discovery source to this skill.
The source contract and participation guardrails are mandatory:
Recency is a hard gate (default last 30 days). Engage with live conversations where participation is still useful. Recency does not guarantee safety; it is an operational and sincerity guardrail.
Disposition-preserving. Keep the original lead, engage, or competitor value and exact Reddit URL. Analysis tools may add fields but may not rewrite the source record.
For an existing Clearbox account, prefer the account-scoped API. GET /inbox?status=all returns the classified opportunities. Preserve id, kind, and url as the source record. The API token is part of the URL path, so keep the account URL in the environment and never place it in the client Sheet or Notion page. If the response is truncated, stop or label the build partial; never silently present the returned page as the complete inbox.
Step 2 — Mine buyer language and score it
mine.py extracts the real questions, comparisons, and pains; score.py ranks each topic on intent, demand, brand fit, and citation potential, with a one-line reason. Recalibrate thresholds to the fresh-data scale so you get a real A/B/C spread, not everything at 5.
Step 3 — Build the deliverables
Client value pack: read CLIENT-VALUE-PACK.md, then use the maintained builder in ClearboxGTM. It pulls the Clearbox API or an export, preserves every disposition and permalink, accepts optional Freckle, Base Loop, or Clay analysis, and generates the canonical 11-view client model plus a guided Notion-ready brief.
Sheet: the client pack renders Dashboard, Plan Setup, Operator Console, Signals, Buyer Language, Content Topics, Competitor Sentiment, GEO Terms, Disclosure Audit, Research Workflow, and Action Legend. Rebuild with the existing Sheet id so the link never changes.
Deck: adapt a deck to the client from the same data; export a PDF.
Notion brief: publish the generated client brief as the readable source of truth. It must show the value uncovered, the priority opportunities, what every Sheet tab means, the offer decision, and the attribution ladder. Link the Sheet, not a private processing surface. Reuse the Notion page id so the shared link stays stable.
TLDR: send a short message that states the value, recommended next step, and two links. Put detailed operating guidance in the Notion brief instead of repeating it in the message.
Step 4 — Verify, then ship
Verify every link in the command center resolves to a real, shared doc before sending anything. Verify that the multi-account guide opens without workspace access. Then give the client a short message that points them to the command center as the starting place.
Step 5 — Report receipts, not promises
Use the five-level scorecard in MULTI-ACCOUNT-OPERATIONS.md: Reddit artifact health, search discovery, observed AI answer visibility, retrieval visibility, and business outcomes. Preserve exact comment permalinks, search checks, AI answer screenshots, and exact cited URLs. Never report an Exa retrieval result as an AI citation.
Start each client benchmark from AI-VISIBILITY-SCORECARD.csv so the same buyer question can be compared across engines, dates, and repeated runs.
Step 6 — Explain what is open and what requires enablement
The skill, builder, attribution model, and Freckle/Base Loop/Clay methods are public. Any Clearbox user can use them to produce their own client Sheet and Notion pack.
The operated agency offering and multi-offer enablement still require contact with Clearbox. Direct agencies to partners@clearbox.to when they want the agency offering, another offer enabled, or help configuring the delivery model. In client-facing language, say only that a separate client offer can be added and the client can pay for it. Do not expose provider-specific billing mechanics.
Do
Recency is sacred. If a thread is old, it does not enter the database and never goes in front of a client.
Relevance-gate every pull.
Every reference must be a real, shared, verified document. Phantom references are the fastest way to lose trust.
The command center doc is the source of truth, and it is plain reading.
The Sheet is the working surface. The Notion brief explains the value, workflow, and tab meanings; it does not duplicate every row.
Community first, website-independent. The owned presence is the deliverable you can build no matter what access the client gives.
Score with a real tier spread.
Keep links stable. Rebuilds update docs and sheets in place.
Include the multi-account guide in every agency command center. The universal public page is the client-safe version; the evidence ledger remains available for fact-checking.
Include Plan Setup in every agency Sheet. State the recommended path, the separate-client-offer alternative, who pays, and readiness. Use dropdowns for those decisions and keep provider-specific billing mechanics out of client-facing copy.
Preserve Clearbox dispositions and permalinks. Freckle, Base Loop, and Clay may add analysis but never silently replace lead, engage, or competitor.
Make automated reporting explicit. The API pull, analysis merge, Sheet rebuild, and Notion refresh may be scheduled. Reddit publishing and marking work complete stay human-authorized.
Keep identity, workspace, and operator separate. Each has a named owner.
Measure exact receipts. A brand mention, a Reddit citation, an exact comment citation, and a business outcome are different events.
Frame Clearbox as the engine. You sell Reddit and AI visibility as a service; behind the scenes it runs on Clearbox for live tracking, sentiment, and competitor monitoring.
Don't
Do not reference scripts, Python, filenames, or commands in anything the client reads. The doc is the instruction. Say the data can be re-queried and rebuilt on demand.
Do not reference a document that does not exist.
Do not show stale threads.
Do not let off-topic noise into the buyer-language table.
Do not sell Clearbox to the end client when you are the agency — you use it behind the scenes.
Do not assume website access. Build the owned presence so a locked CMS never stalls the engagement.
Do not buy, rent, or transfer Reddit accounts.
Do not coordinate votes or thread participation across managed accounts.
Do not impersonate a founder, customer, or independent advocate.
Do not describe retrieval visibility as an AI answer citation.
Do not use em-dashes anywhere in client-facing copy. Commas, periods, colons, parentheses.
