pptxx — Presentation Deck Mode

Casts a talk into a deck the way a foundry casts a part: secure the script (the mould), chain into the crucible for design tokens (the alloy), then pour a self-contained HTML deck (the cast). A deck leaves this skill only when its files are sealed by the deck-gate and its build receipt is on disk — the Stop hook will not let the turn end while the run is open and unaccounted for.

Core Principle

Script precedes design; design uses only tokens that survived the crucible's gates; the deck is self-contained HTML. The main agent orchestrates the flow but never smuggles design decisions past the crucible panel and never edits deck files by any route the deck-gate cannot seal. Every phase advance is proven by the state the hooks read and by receipts on disk — not by the agent's assertion that a phase is done.

Hard Gates (hook-enforced)

1. Deck artifacts (slides.md, index.html) are written via the Write/Edit tools only. The deck-gate content-seals every tracked write; editing them via Bash (shell redirection, sed, heredoc) breaks the seal and the Stop hook refuses to close the run until the file is re-saved via Write.
2. Arming is owned by the deck-gate — never write the flags yourself. Do not set visualQa.required or imagePanel.required in state. The deck-gate greps slides.md for a ```diagram fence and index.html for local image references and ratchets those flags one-way; the flags are read-only to this skill. Describe the gate's behavior; do not simulate it.
3. Diagram and image grammar are active in M4 (causal — read the reason). The deck-gate greps slides.md for the ```diagram fence (arming visualQa.required = true) and index.html for local image references (ratcheting imagePanel.required = 1) — both one-way. In M3-era both were suspended because no visual-qa or image machine existed and the arming would deadlock the run; M4 lifts both suspensions. A script beat that calls for a diagram is now written as a ```diagram fence (format-spec §5: first line slide: NN, then free text) — this arms visualQa.required on purpose, and Phase V (Visual-QA) consumes it. An image directive is now sourced by Phase I (Imaging) into a local copy under <deck>/images/, referenced locally in index.html — this ratchets imagePanel.required, and the image panel consumes it. The flags stay the deck-gate's to arm (Hard Gate 2); you activate the grammar, you never write the flag.
4. Design tokens are crucible-gated and read-only. Only tokens that passed the crucible's token-gate, fidelity assay, and 2-designer panel may style the deck. After the return, never edit tokens.json or design-spec.md in the design directory — an edit voids the entire crucible approval. Copy token values inline into the deck HTML.
5. No deck progress without the crucible panel's APPROVE. Before styling the deck, confirm the crucible panel receipts (harmony-critic, rigor-critic) exist on disk with a CHECKS: block and VERDICT: APPROVE. Proceeding on unapproved tokens is a protocol violation.
6. Record the build receipt when building completes. Building green requires writing the raw receipt `.glm-hammer/evidence/deck/build.md` (render summary + slide count). done is re-verified by the hybrid-done branch — when state.deck exists the gate re-checks the seal set and this receipt.
7. 대기 시 awaiting-user · 포기 시 done — 방치 금지. A run that pauses for a genuine user answer sets awaiting-user; a run that is abandoned sets done. Leaving the state parked at a working status with no progress deadlocks the Stop hook.
8. Keep .glm-hammer/state.json current at every ⟨state⟩ checkpoint below.

Rules:

• Update state by merge, never a full rewrite — a partial rewrite that drops deck, slides, design, or resume breaks the gates that read them.
• resume marks a chaining hand-off: this skill sets resume: "pptxx" before calling crucible and clears it (resume: null) on return. Do not leave it set.
• visualQa.required and imagePanel.required are read-only — the deck-gate owns them (Hard Gate 2). Never set or clear them by hand.
• slides.total is updated (by merge) in the building phase when index.html is rendered; in M4-era slides.diagrams counts the ```diagram fences in slides.md (the grammar is active — Hard Gate 3).
• Add .glm-hammer/ to .gitignore if the project has one and it is not already listed.

Process

Phase S: Scripting ⟨state: scripting⟩

Secure and normalize the topic or script from the user. Create the deck directory docs/glm-hammer/decks/YYYY-MM-DD-<name>/ ⟨state: deck⟩ and author slides.md following the frozen format-spec grammar at docs/engineering-discipline/harness/pptxx-skill/planning/spikes/pptx/format-spec.md (slide separator ---; exactly one # title per slide; - bullets up to two levels; optional > notes:), with the M4-era grammar active (Hard Gate 3 — the M3-era suspensions are lifted):

• A script beat that calls for a diagram → a ```diagram fence (format-spec §5: first line slide: NN, then free text). This arms visualQa.required (deck-gate), and Phase V (Visual-QA) consumes it.
• An image directive in the source → carried into Phase I (Imaging), which sources a local copy under <deck>/images/ and references it locally in index.html. This ratchets imagePanel.required (deck-gate), and the image panel consumes it.

Phase C: Chaining ⟨state: chaining⟩

Chain into crucible for design tokens, following the resume protocol in order:

1. Before calling: merge resume: "pptxx" into the existing state (keeping the deck and slides keys), then invoke the crucible skill with a storyline = the mood summary of the presentation topic/script, quoting the user's own words.
2. Crucible completion signal (confirm ALL — do not proceed to the deck if any is unmet):
   • state.design is set (the crucible output directory).
   • tokens.json passed the validateTokens contract (crucible's token-gate enforces it; the gate re-verifies).
   • tokens.json and design-spec.md have sealMatches === 'ok' (no Bash-edit tampering).
   • Crucible panel receipt APPROVE: `.glm-hammer/evidence/design/panel/round-<N>/harmony-critic.md` and `.glm-hammer/evidence/design/panel/round-<N>/rigor-critic.md` both exist on disk with a CHECKS: block and a VERDICT: APPROVE line. Do not proceed to the deck on tokens the user has not accepted.
3. Immediately on return (merge): merge into the existing state phase: 'pptxx', status: 'chaining', resume: null, re-record deck and slides, and set design = the crucible output directory. Do not rewrite the whole state — merge.
4. The design directory is read-only thereafter: never edit tokens.json or design-spec.md (an edit voids the entire crucible approval). Copy token values inline into the deck HTML.

Phase I: Imaging ⟨state: imaging⟩

M4 activates image sourcing (the M3-era pass-through is over): the image directives carried in from Phase S are resolved into adopted local copies, an integrity manifest, and a fetch receipt, then judged by the image panel. Arming stays the deck-gate's — never write imagePanel.required yourself; the gate greps index.html for local image references and ratchets it (Hard Gate 2). This phase describes the sourcing discipline; it does not set the flag.

1. Discovery (WebSearch + keyless license APIs). Discover candidates with the ZCode WebSearch tool. Any adoption that needs license metadata is confirmed through the two keyless APIs below:
   • Openverse: GET https://api.openverse.org/v1/images/?q=<query>&license=cc0,pdm&mature=false&page_size=<n> — the mature=false filter is always on. When the allowlist is widened you may add by,by-sa to the license= value, but the license policy below is the final gate. Observed anonymous rate limit: 20/min · 200/day.
   • Wikimedia Commons: GET https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/api.php?action=query&format=json&generator=search&gsrsearch=filetype:bitmap+<query>&gsrnamespace=6&gsrlimit=20&prop=imageinfo&iiprop=url|extmetadata|size&iiurlwidth=1024. The haslicense: CirrusSearch keyword is not supported (confirmed in M1), so use the client-side LicenseShortName filter fallback: adopt only results whose extmetadata.LicenseShortName matches an allowlisted license pattern. Commons returns no rate-limit headers.
   • Descriptive UA glm-hammer-pptxx/0.x (contact: <email>). Keep a per-run query budget; on a 429, back off and ask the user — never retry blindly.
2. Adopted images become local copies in the deck directory only (M1 frozen download command):

   https-only (--proto '=https' / --proto-redir '=https' fixed), redirects ≤ 3 (--max-redirs 3), ≤ 5 MB (5242880), and a confirmed image/* Content-Type. index.html and any pptx reference the local path only — never a remote URL (the deck-gate static check refuses the seal on a remote src / @import / <iframe> reference).
3. Integrity manifest attributions.md (the §0 5-column grammar — authored via Write): . Frozen example row: (skip the header and separator rows; a row is ≥ 5 cells). The stop-gate's manifest verification scans this grammar, the path, the sha256, and the license.

Phase B: Building ⟨state: building⟩

Author index.html per the Deck HTML Rules below, styling it with token values copied inline from the crucible design directory. Merge-update slides.total. When the render is complete, record the raw receipt `.glm-hammer/evidence/deck/build.md` (render summary + slide count) — the hybrid-done branch requires it.

Deck HTML Rules

Building index.html follows the M1 addressing convention and the §0 static checks (path cited: docs/engineering-discipline/harness/pptxx-skill/planning/spikes/screenshot/README.md):

• Addressing: each slide is <section class="slide" id="slide-NN"> (NN = zero-padded 2 digits from 01), laid out against a fixed 1280×720 viewport — the convention from the screenshot README verbatim.
• Self-contained: no <script> and no javascript:; no https?://, absolute-path, or ../-escape reference in a src / srcset / <link href> / url() / @import / <iframe|object|embed> context. The deck-gate refuses to seal on any such violation and the Stop hook then blocks. <a href> URLs and URLs in text nodes are allowed (source attribution).
• Tokens inline: copy token values from the read-only design directory directly into the deck's CSS — do not link or @import the design files.
• The sealed set is slides.md + index.html; both are written via Write/Edit only so the deck-gate can seal them.

Phase V: Visual-QA ⟨state: visual-qa⟩

Reached when the deck carries diagram slides (visualQa.required armed) — the deck is screenshotted offline and a critic judges the rendered pixels. Arming is the deck-gate's (Hard Gate 2); this phase describes the machine, it does not set visualQa.required.

1. Diagram-block grammar is now active (the M3-era suspension ends). In M3-era a ```diagram fence was never written into slides.md — it would arm visualQa.required before the visual-qa machine existed, deadlocking the run. M4 activates the grammar: when a script beat calls for a diagram, write it into slides.md with the format-spec §5 grammar — a ```diagram fence whose first line is slide: NN, then free text. That tracked write makes the deck-gate's diagram grep fire and one-way ratchet visualQa.required = true, and because the visual-qa machine now exists that arming leads into this phase instead of deadlocking. (The gate owns the arming; you never set the flag.)
2. Offline screenshots (M1 frozen command). Capture with Playwright under javaScriptEnabled: false and a deny-by-default request block (context.route('**/*', …) continues only the target deck file:// and aborts everything else) — both are required, not optional. Output is <deck>/shots/slide-NN.png (NN zero-padded from 01; shots/ is seal- and scan-exempt). Slides are addressed as <section class="slide" id="slide-NN"> at 1280×720 (path cited: docs/engineering-discipline/harness/pptxx-skill/planning/spikes/screenshot/README.md).
3. Panel and rounds (§0 tail). Dispatch visual-qa-critic under information isolation — the shots/ PNG paths only (plus, at most, a summary of the token values); the deck HTML, nonces, and correct-answer hints are withheld — with its evidence path `.glm-hammer/evidence/deck/visual-qa/round-<N>/visual-qa-critic.md`. Unanimous = the critic's 4-item checklist all YES / N-A (a mechanical APPROVE) — a single seat, not a multi-seat vote. On REJECT, a tracked deck edit bumps visualQa.round (deck-gate mapping) and you re-dispatch.
4. Escalation: count rounds by REJECT receipts, capped at 3 — the round is an invalidation counter, not a progress counter. Once 3 REJECTs have accumulated, do not attempt a 4th: set status: awaiting-user and escalate to the user (방치 금지 — never park the run silently).
5. Build receipt: building-complete still records the raw receipt (already present since M3 — keep and re-confirm); branch ① / hybrid-done requires it.

Phase A: Awaiting-User — PPTX opt-in ⟨state: awaiting-user⟩

Reached once the HTML deck product is complete (building green, and — when armed — the visual-qa / image panel APPROVE). This is the point where the M4-complete product could terminate at done; before it does, offer the optional PPTX extraction.

1. ⟨state: awaiting-user⟩ — ask, do not assume. Ask the user whether they want an editable .pptx extracted from the finished deck. Opt-in only: never generate a pptx without an explicit yes — the default outcome is the HTML deck, not a pptx.
2. awaiting-user is a legitimate wait, not an abandonment. Per §0 the awaiting-user status passes the common guard (the gate's guard-order regression, pptxx (h)), so the Stop hook does not block while the run is parked here for a genuine user answer. This is exactly Hard Gate 7 (대기 시 awaiting-user) — do not park the run at a working status instead, and do not silently proceed.
3. Refuse / no answer → ⟨state: done⟩. The HTML deck is the terminal product (already complete since M4); close the run at done.
4. Consent → ⟨state: exporting⟩ (Phase X).

Phase X: Exporting — editable PPTX ⟨state: exporting⟩

Entered only on an explicit yes from Phase A.

1. ⟨state: exporting⟩ — capture rasters, then run the converter. The export is two stages: first capture the rendered deck to per-slide rasters, then pour them full-bleed into the pptx.
   • (a) Capture each <section class="slide" id="slide-NN"> to <deck-dir>/shots/slide-NN.png (NN from the deck's own slide order, 1280×720) with the runtime screenshotter:

     It reuses the M1 frozen capture conditions verbatim — javaScriptEnabled: false, a deny-by-default request block, element-level #slide-NN capture at the 1280×720 viewport (addressing contract: docs/engineering-discipline/harness/pptxx-skill/planning/spikes/screenshot/README.md). The allowlist widens one notch from the spike's "deck file only" to "any local file:// resource inside the deck subtree" so a deck's own images/ render — but every remote / escaping / non-file request is still aborted (offline-safe). Playwright is resolved through NODE_PATH pointing at the global install; the script declares no dependency.
   • (b) Convert with the runtime converter:

     Full-bleed export (default): when <deck-dir>/shots/slide-NN.png exists for a slide's 1-based position, it is poured as exactly one picture covering the whole slide — pixel-perfect fidelity to the HTML deck (colors, layout, SVG, gradients all preserved); title/body text are omitted by design, speaker notes are kept as the presenter memo. When no raster exists for a position, that slide falls back to the text render (title + bullets; a diagram fence falls back to its own shots/slide-NN.png or title-only + demoted notes). The optional tokens argument styles the fallback text render best-effort; a missing/unparseable tokens file falls back to default styling (never a crash). It writes <deck-dir>/<basename>.pptx (slide count on stdout, exit 0).
2. The gate stays armed through exporting. Per the §0 gate branch table, exporting is a branch ①②③ status: the deck seal set and the build/receipt requirements remain enforced exactly as they are for visual-qa and hybrid-done. This support landed in M2 — the hooks are untouched by this phase; you are only consuming a status the gate already understands.

Terminal ⟨state: done⟩

M5-era flows building → [visual-qa] → awaiting-user →(consent)→ exporting → done, with two short-circuit branches back to done: awaiting-user →(refuse / no answer)→ done and exporting →(Python or python-pptx absent)→ done. When the deck carries diagram slides (visualQa.required armed) or an image panel (imagePanel.required armed), building green routes through Phase V / the image panel first; an unarmed deck reaches awaiting-user directly. Reaching done requires building green + `.glm-hammer/evidence/deck/build.md` present, plus any armed visual-qa / image-panel receipt APPROVE. The PPTX opt-in (awaiting-user) and the exporting run sit between the completed HTML deck and done — the HTML product is already terminal from M4, so declining the opt-in or a Python-absent fallback both close cleanly at done. Because state.deck exists when done is written, the gate branches to hybrid-done and re-verifies branch ① (seal set + build.md) — which is why the build receipt is mandatory before done; the same branch ① / ② / ③ requirements also hold while the status is exporting.
