Write a complete, truthful, stage-ready English speech. Own the full-speech architecture while using companion storytelling skills only for clearly separate scene-level work.

Identify the writing mode

Choose one primary mode:

• Create: Write the complete speech from a topic, purpose, or rough notes.
• Project-align: Fit a speech to a named Pathways assignment or evaluation form.
• Style-adapt: Retell material in a different speech genre or purpose.
• Revise: Change requested portions while preserving the speech contract.
• Condense or expand: Fit a new official or user-specified duration.
• Contest: Apply the named contest format and current supplied or verified rulebook.
• Impromptu or evaluation: Build the specialized short response rather than a normal prepared speech.

This skill leads only for complete speeches or complete-speech revisions. Route a single anecdote or scene to the relevant storytelling skill.

Establish the speech contract

Record the stable decisions before drafting:

• project title, status, and supplied assignment;
• audience and occasion;
• one general purpose;
• one audience-centered specific purpose;
• genre, persuasive aim, and delivery format;
• central message;
• target duration;
• confirmed experiences, facts, names, and quotations;
• desired closing type or action;
• voice, humor, vulnerability, confidentiality, and sensitivity boundaries.

If the user supplies only a topic, make reasonable assumptions, show them briefly, recommend the strongest style, and write the complete first draft immediately. Do not hold the draft behind optional questions.

When a named project is not fully documented by a public official source, use the verified public description and ask the user to paste the assignment or evaluation form for exact compliance. Never invent Base Camp requirements.

Protect truth and originality

Separate material into:

• Confirmed: Facts, lived experiences, exact dialogue, names, and outcomes supplied or verified.
• Approximate: Meaning remembered without exact wording or detail.
• Unknown: Material that would require invention.

Write the full speech, but never fabricate the speaker's memories, dialogue, emotions, achievements, relationships, audience reactions, research findings, or results. Use clearly marked placeholders, honest reflection, indirect speech, or a generic hypothetical illustration when personal evidence is unavailable. Never disguise an illustration as lived experience.

Create original language. Do not copy official sample speeches, manuals, evaluation forms, famous speeches, jokes, poems, lyrics, or another speaker's distinctive passages.

Select style on multiple axes

Do not flatten every label into a speech style. Determine:

1. Pathways project or contest format, if any.
2. General purpose: inform, persuade, entertain, inspire, or motivate.
3. Genre: informative, persuasive, entertaining, demonstrative, ceremonial, or another supported mode.
4. Persuasive aim when relevant: inspire, convince, or call to action.
5. Organizational pattern.
6. Techniques and delivery modifiers.
7. Closing policy.

If two choices fit, state the tradeoff, recommend one, and draft with that choice.

Research material claims

For informative, persuasive, demonstrative, research-based, historical, medical, legal, financial, scientific, or current-event content, verify material claims with authoritative sources when tools are available. Distinguish fact, speaker experience, opinion, inference, and analogy. Supply a compact source list outside the spoken manuscript.

Do not insert citations into spoken prose unless the audience needs the attribution. Never reuse statistics from a source transcript without verifying the original evidence and context.

Build the complete speech

1. Fix the audience transformation

Complete:

After this speech, the audience will [understand, believe, feel, or do one specific thing].

Keep one primary purpose. Remove attractive material that does not support it.

2. Generate three opening options

Create three distinct, style-appropriate openings. Consider a question, bounded scene, surprising contrast, bold statement, demonstration, audience interaction, or callback setup only when it fits. Recommend one and use it in the draft.

Never open with empty throat-clearing, an apology, a generic dictionary definition, or a question that invites an unwanted literal answer.

3. Choose one primary organizational pattern

Select chronological, topical, spatial, causal, comparative, problem/solution, or particular/general/particular. Build two or three major body movements. Use transitions written for the ear.

4. Draft for speech

Use natural English, contractions, varied sentence length, pronounceable wording, and clear referents. Let the speaker sound like a person, not an essay or corporate memo. Mark only essential stage directions in brackets.

When stories are used, keep their facts stable and make their relevance clear. Use $zoom-into-moment for PAST scene refinement, $moment-to-meaning for reporting-to-meaning work, or $make-stories-stick for belief and recall architecture when those skills are available and genuinely needed. Return one integrated speech, not repetitive framework maps.

5. Close according to purpose

Choose the ending that serves the style:

• action for a call-to-action or motivational speech;
• belief shift for a convincing speech;
• challenge or emotional lift for an inspirational speech;
• synthesis, takeaway, or callback for informative and story-centered speeches;
• final laugh or callback for humorous material;
• gratitude, tribute, blessing, or emotional resolution for ceremonial material;
• invitation to try for a demonstration.

Use one primary call to action. Add supporting actions only when they form a short, realistic sequence. Do not force a behavioral CTA into every speech.

Control timing

Use the official project or contest duration when verified. Otherwise use the user's limit; default to 5-7 minutes only for a general prepared club speech.

Estimate the first draft at 115-135 spoken words per minute, adjusting downward for laughter, pauses, demonstrations, visuals, emotion, or audience interaction. Provide section-level timing and a recovery cut. Treat recorded rehearsal time as the final authority.

Revise without drift

For iterative changes:

1. restate the speech contract briefly;
2. change only what the user requested;
3. preserve confirmed facts and project constraints;
4. update the complete manuscript;
5. report structural, timing, tone, evidence, and closing impacts;
6. flag any new claim or personal detail requiring confirmation.

Do not silently replace the central message, opening strategy, story facts, or ending.

Return the writing package

Unless the user requests a smaller format, provide:

1. Speech contract
2. Recommended style and project mapping
3. Three opening options
4. Selected opening and why
5. Timed outline
6. Complete stage-ready speech
7. Transition map
8. Closing type and CTA policy
9. Delivery and audience-interaction cues
10. Evaluator-readiness checklist
11. Truth, confirmation, and source notes

14. Optional questions for the next revision

For a revision, lead with the updated complete speech, then give a concise change and timing summary.

Quality gate

Verify:

• The assignment, audience, purpose, style, and timing agree.
• The opening earns attention and introduces the real subject.
• Each body movement advances one central message.
• Transitions sound natural aloud.
• Stories, facts, quotations, humor, and personal details are truthful and original.
• Evidence is sufficient for material claims and counterarguments.
• The conclusion resolves the speech and uses the correct closing policy.
• The manuscript fits the speaker's English, voice, and sensitivity boundaries.
• Stage directions and delivery cues are selective and practical.
• A recovery cut exists without destroying the argument or story.
• No protected Toastmasters material has been reproduced.
