PPT Imagegen Storyboard

Purpose

Create complete visual targets for slides. In the orchestrated deck workflow, generate the whole storyboard set first so the deck has consistent rhythm, density, visual language, and narrative flow. Each storyboard image becomes the source of truth for editable conversion after the set is reviewed and frozen.

Mandatory Tooling

Load and follow imagegen. The storyboard must be generated or edited through imagegen. Do not substitute HTML screenshots, blank mockups, manually drawn SVGs, ordinary chart exports, or non-imagegen placeholders as the final storyboard.

Inputs

• approved slide_plan.md
• storyboard/visual_style_spec.md
• current slide_specs/slide_XX.md
• relevant source figures, screenshots, charts, paper pages, and extracted facts

Output

Save the complete slide target as:

• storyboard/slide_XX.png
• storyboard/slide_XX_imagegen_prompt.md

After all planned slide storyboards are generated, create:

• storyboard/storyboard_contact_sheet.png
• storyboard/storyboard_index.md

Prompt Traceability Rules

Before calling imagegen, write storyboard/slide_XX_imagegen_prompt.md. The prompt file must be derived from slide_specs/slide_XX.md, not from style words alone.

It must include:

• the slide purpose, audience, and intended message
• the important facts, figures, charts, images, and concepts from the user materials that should guide the slide
• suggested visible content and hierarchy, chosen by the model from the user request and source materials
• required source figures, screenshots, charts, images, or figure regions when the slide needs them
• layout structure and object grouping
• editability-friendly constraints
• explicit negative constraints: no background-only image, no mood board, no empty template, no unsupported factual claims

If the generated storyboard is empty, mostly decorative, missing the obvious slide message, or ignores important user/source material, revise the prompt and regenerate. Do not proceed by manually explaining the missing content outside the image.

Completeness Rules

The imagegen storyboard must contain the complete intended slide:

• title, subtitle if any, body text, callouts, labels, captions, legends, axes, annotations, footer, and page number
• chart/table regions with values or trends when the source materials support them
• source figures, screenshots, charts, or images at intended size and position when useful
• visual hierarchy, spacing, icons, and section structure
• enough visible content for the final slide to stand on its own

Editability-Friendly Design Rules

Design the storyboard so later PPT reconstruction can split it into clean editable objects.

Required:

• use a clean, low-noise background with clear contrast
• keep text, icons, charts, and diagrams visually separated rather than fused into one illustration
• use simple geometric shapes, clear panels, straight connectors, and separable visual groups
• place icons in their own small regions; do not merge icons into text strokes, chart lines, or background texture
• keep charts and diagrams structurally simple enough to rebuild with PPT shapes, lines, and text
• keep source figures in distinct rectangular regions with clear boundaries
• preserve whitespace around labels, legends, captions, and callouts
• use flat colors or simple fills; avoid complex gradients, textures, shadows, glows, bokeh, noisy patterns, or photographic backgrounds
• avoid tiny decorative details that cannot be rebuilt meaningfully

If a design fuses icons, text, charts, and background textures so tightly that clean element-level conversion is unlikely, simplify or separate the visual groups before generating the storyboard. Complex icons, figures, charts, tables, diagrams, and decorative marks may still be preserved later as independent complete picture crops; the key is that they remain separable and not clipped.

Factual Rules

• Base slide content on the user request, source materials, source_audit.md, and slide_specs/slide_XX.md.
• The model may choose concise slide wording, labels, grouping, and emphasis from those materials.
• Do not invent unsupported experiments, values, citations, formulas, or conclusions.
• If exact chart values are not available, prefer a qualitative or source-figure-based visual rather than invented precise numbers.

Freeze Rule

After the full storyboard set review returns PASS, write or rely on storyboard/storyboard_freeze.md and treat all listed storyboard/slide_XX.png files as frozen. Later editable conversion must match these images. Do not call imagegen during conversion to fix crop, bbox, text, z-order, or fidelity problems; fix the conversion artifacts instead. Regenerate a storyboard only before freeze, or after explicit user approval to unfreeze and replace the affected storyboard image.
