Rewrite tone
Rewrite the supplied text in a target tone while preserving its meaning, facts, and key points.
Steps
- Determine the target tone. It may be given as an argument ($ARGUMENTS) or in the request — e.g. formal, friendly, concise, confident, apologetic, plain English. If unclear, ask.
- Determine the audience and medium if relevant (email, Slack message, exec summary, customer-facing). Ask only if it materially changes the rewrite.
- Rewrite the text:
- Keep all facts, numbers, names, and commitments intact.
- Adjust word choice, sentence length, and structure to fit the tone.
- Do not invent new claims or drop important caveats.
Output
Return the rewritten text ready to use. If the change of tone forced a meaningful trade-off (e.g. "concise" dropped a nuance), add one short note underneath.
Offer a second variant only if the user asks or the tone is ambiguous. Default to British English unless the source text indicates otherwise.
