# Craft Article Opening Open with the strongest real material already available. The opening is an entrance, not a summary or advertisement. ## Boundaries - Never invent a scene, quotation, feeling, chronology, result, or certainty. - Match the article: lived moment for `thinking`, useful result or problem for `research`, current change for `field-note`. - Do not explain the whole article before the reader has entered it. ## Two passes 1. Draft from one concrete anchor: an object, sentence, action, contradiction, observation, or result. 2. Reread the first screen with the body. Keep it only if it creates a natural need to continue and sounds like this author. When several entrances are genuinely possible, try two or three privately and select the one with the most truth and movement. Otherwise, write one and move on. Reject clickbait, generic era-setting, stacked questions, and polished abstraction with no lived or practical anchor.
