Batch Process

Stub orchestrator — composes a Script-Fu loop and hands off to run-script-fu.

Inputs

• input_glob — e.g. ~/Pictures/raw/*.jpg
• output_dir
• operation — one of: resize, crop, format-convert, flatten, watermark, custom
• Operation-specific args (e.g. width, height, format, watermark_path)

Steps

1. Verify the saved profile exists; otherwise call onboard.
2. Resolve the input file list with ls/find. Bail if empty.
3. For each operation, generate the Script-Fu body:
   • resize: gimp-image-scale
   • crop: gimp-image-crop
   • format-convert: gimp-file-load → file-<fmt>-save
   • flatten: gimp-image-flatten
   • watermark: load image, load watermark as layer, position, flatten, save
   • custom: prompt for the inner Script-Fu expression
4. Wrap in (let loop ...) over the file list, ending with (gimp-quit 0).
5. Hand the full script to run-script-fu via script_path.
6. Report counts: succeeded / failed / skipped.

Notes

• Prefer ImageMagick (magick) for simple resize/format conversion — faster, no GIMP startup cost. Only use this skill when the operation actually needs GIMP.
• For very large batches, split into chunks of ~500 to avoid Script-Fu memory bloat.
