Prose
Remove the "AI tell" from written content. Replace vague abstractions and robotic sentence structures with direct, specific, and rhythmic human prose.
What This Skill Does
This skill identifies and deletes the predictable patterns LLMs use when they are being lazy: throat-clearing openers, passive voice, over-enthusiastic adverbs, and the "AI-purple" of writing — the dramatic em-dash.
Rules
- Human Subjects Only: Every sentence must have a clear actor. No inanimate objects performing human actions ("The software unlocks potential").
- The Adverb Cull: Delete all adverbs. If the verb isn't strong enough, find a better verb.
- Strict Specificity: Replace vague superlatives ("World-class," "Next-gen," "Seamless") with concrete data or specific outcomes.
- Sentence Rhythm: Break the metronome. Alternate short, punchy statements with medium-length sentences. Never write three sentences of equal length in a row.
- No Em-Dash Abuse: The em-dash (
—) is the #1 tell for AI slop. Delete it. Use a period, a comma, or a colon instead.
- Active Voice Mandatory: Move the actor to the front of the sentence. "We built this" beats "This was built by us."
What to Always Do
- Start late, leave early: Cut the introductory filler ("In today's fast-paced world..."). Jump straight to the point.
- Vary paragraph endings: Avoid the "one-liner punch" at the end of every paragraph. It feels formulaic.
- Read it out loud: If it sounds like an advertisement or a robot, rewrite it.
- Use "You" and "We": Create a conversation between humans, not a distance report.
What to Never Do
- Never use "Elevate," "Seamless," or "Unleash": These are the vocabulary of AI slop.
- Never use "Not only... but also": It's a binary contrast crutch. State the two things directly.
- Never start with "Imagine a world...": It's a rhetorical cliché.
- Never use a semicolon: If a sentence is long enough to need a semicolon, it's long enough to be two sentences.
Settings
Adjust these dials (1-10) for writing tone:
- CONCISION (Default: 9): 1 = Flowery/Long, 10 = Direct/Staccato.
- TONE_WARMTH (Default: 5): 1 = Technical/Cold, 10 = Conversational/Playful.
