1. Record the current objective and project state.
2. Record only verified completed work, decisions, unresolved risks, and the next safe action.
3. Record the observed Git branch, latest commit, and working-tree state.
4. Separate current facts from historical evidence and assumptions.
5. Do not copy credentials, private Microsoft 365 content, or opaque application state into the handoff.
6. Use the reference checklist when a repository handoff file is being created.
