ORCA Market Opportunity Council
What This Skill Is
A specialized council for deciding whether a business, wedge, niche, or market opportunity is actually worth pursuing.
Use this when the question is market attractiveness and buyer reality, not just idea creativity.
Trigger
Use when the user wants:
- a marketable business idea
- a candid read on whether buyers will pay
- help choosing between opportunities
- pressure testing on niche versus venture-scale fit
Five Council Roles
- Buyer Economics Reviewer
- Pain And Urgency Reviewer
- Competitive And Distribution Reviewer
- Founder-Fit Reviewer
- Contrarian Kill-Switch Reviewer
Stage-1 Expectations
Each worker should judge:
- who pays
- why they would pay now
- what has to be displaced
- what distribution path might work
- why the opportunity may fail even if the product is good
Stage-3 Synthesis Must Produce
- pursue, park, kill, or revise-and-retest
- best plausible buyer and wedge
- strongest disqualifying concern
- market type:
- venture-scale candidate
- strong niche or lifestyle business
- unclear but promising wedge
- weak or overcrowded market
- next research or validation move
Required Outputs

templates/idea-scorecard.md
templates/idea-decision.md
