trigger-doctor diagnoses why an existing Skill description misses relevant requests or catches unrelated ones. The creator presents a workflow combining structural checks, simulated trigger judgments, a proposed description and a saved regression suite.
trigger-doctor
Diagnose and repair agent-skill triggering. Use this skill whenever a user wants to check whether a skill will actually activate, complains that a skill never fires or fires too often, asks to test, audit, or improve a SKILL.md description, or wants a regression suite saved before a model or agent update — even if they just say "check my skill", "why isn't my skill working", "make my skill trigger", or paste a SKILL.md without explaining why. It runs deterministic validation, simulates labeled user queries against the description, diagnoses under- and over-triggering against the official Agent Skills description science, prescribes a rewritten ready-to-paste description, and persists an eval suite for re-testing after agent or model updates. Also use it proactively right after creating or editing any skill, and when reviewing third-party skills before installing them. Do not use for ordinary code testing, CI setup, or creating a brand-new skill from scratch — that is skill-creator's job.

trigger-doctor: diagnose an existing Skill's trigger description
Check a Skill's structure, simulate whether its name and description match labeled user requests, and propose a revised description with a saved regression suite.
Uses
Use for a Skill that rarely activates, activates too broadly, or needs its trigger description reviewed after changes.
Prerequisites
Provide a Skill directory, pasted SKILL.md content, or an installed Skill name that can be located. The documented mechanical check uses a Python script.
How to use
Supply the target Skill. The workflow parses its mechanical structure, evaluates positive and adjacent out-of-scope requests using only the name and description, explains missed or excessive triggers, then presents a before-and-after description and persists the query suite.
Limitations
Trigger judgments are simulated, not a runtime guarantee. Applying the proposed description is the user's choice. This is maintenance of an existing Skill, rather than a workflow for creating a new Skill or testing ordinary application code.
