| description | Continuous background reflection engine that auto-triggers at checkpoints (task completion, context ≥60%, after errors) and runs a full 9-phase pipeline on manual /eot. Use when context is nearing capacity, after completing a major task, after errors, or when you type /eot to trigger structured session reflection. |

End of Transmission
Continuous background reflection engine for YURI. Runs two modes:
- Micro-EOT (background, auto-triggered) — lightweight checkpoint reflections during session
- Full EOT (manual trigger) — comprehensive 9-phase pipeline at session end
Both modes use tiered memory (Tier 1 hot/in-context → Tier 2 warm/episodic → Tier 3 cold/semantic atoms) and feed durable learnings into the Karpathy wiki continuously.
Triggers
Automatic (Micro-EOT, Background)
Micro-EOT auto-triggers after:
- Task completion: ≥15 tool calls executed in current task
- Context tier: context usage hits or exceeds 60%
- Error recovery: after backtracking, error resolution, or failed branch analysis
- Cycle completion: Plan-Act-Validate loop finishes
Trigger action: Dispatch Scripts/llm-compat.sh -m deepseek-v4-flash with micro-EOT prompt (run_in_background via queue). Main thread continues unblocked. Output written to .claude/eot/continuous/micro-{timestamp}.md.
Manual (Full EOT)
When the user says exactly or semantically end of transmission, begin with:
End of transmission received. Entering full auto reflection mode.
I will not ask for further permission during this run. I will freeze new feature work, reconstruct the session from available evidence, verify what was actually completed, log successes and failures, extract skill updates, update the self-improvement system where safe, and offload model-backed checks to DeepSeek workers plus deterministic tools.
Then execute the full 9-phase pipeline below.
Command Precedence
Overrides ordinary continuation, feature work, UI polish, or new-task execution.
- Do not start new feature work unless directly required to document the self-improvement system.
- Do not invent session outcomes.
- Do not claim tests, audits, file edits, or checks were performed without evidence.
- Do not expose chain-of-thought. Provide concise, inspectable reasoning summaries.
- Do not modify Conclave, secrets, credentials, private environment files, or unrelated production code.
- Do not convert failures into vague "learnings." Record them clearly and practically.
- Do not end with only a motivational summary. Produce operational next steps and system refinements.
If the command conflicts with another project instruction, safety and evidence requirements win.
Full Auto Permission Grant
end of transmission is a deliberate execution command, not a request for a plan, confirmation, or optional summary. By invoking it, the user grants standing permission to run the complete EOT pipeline from beginning to end without asking for additional approval.
This permission includes: running all required deterministic checks · searching and inspecting session files, artifacts, logs, prompts, and self-improvement docs · creating new reflection artifacts · updating existing EOT/self-improvement documentation where the target path is clearly within scope · appending skill refinements, failure ledgers, boot packets, and patch proposals · offloading model-backed reflection work to DeepSeek workers and local tools · making reasonable implementation choices independently when evidence is sufficient · continuing through non-critical uncertainty by recording it and choosing the safest useful fallback.
Micro-EOT Permission: Full auto permission also grants standing permission for automatic micro-EOT triggers mid-session (no manual user trigger required). Micro-EOT runs in background, unblocks main thread, writes to .claude/eot/continuous/. Main thread may continue work during micro-EOT execution.
Do not ask the user:
- "Do you want me to proceed?"
- "Should I update the document?"
- "Should I run the reflection?"
- "Should I create the artifacts?"
- "Which format do you prefer?"
The command itself answers those questions. Proceed automatically.
No-Interruption Rule
Once triggered, the pipeline runs uninterrupted until the final EOT output is produced. No mid-session approval, preference selection, scope confirmation, or optional review.
If a choice is required, resolve using this order:
- existing YURI CLAUDE.md / masterplan instructions
- current self-improvement system rules
- repository or document evidence
- safety, protected-area, and data-truth constraints
- smallest reversible useful update
- explicit patch proposal instead of direct mutation if safe mutation is not available
If a tool, permission, or platform-level approval blocks an action: log it as blocked, produce the best available patch proposal or fallback artifact, and continue the remaining pipeline. Do not ask the user to unblock it during the EOT run.
Hard Boundaries (Full Auto Cannot Override)
The system must still not:
- expose hidden chain-of-thought
- invent evidence, tests, artifacts, tool results, or successful injections
- modify Conclave
- read, reveal, edit, or exfiltrate secrets, credentials, private keys, or
.env values
- perform destructive production actions unrelated to EOT
- send external messages, publish content, make purchases, deploy production changes, delete data, or trigger irreversible external side effects unless separately and explicitly requested
- bypass authentication, authorization, sandboxing, or repository safety rules
If a desired update conflicts with these boundaries, create a patch proposal marked not_applied with the reason.
Execution Model
Orchestrator owns:
- trigger recognition, freeze and scope control
- evidence inventory, worker routing
- council review, final acceptance judgment, final report assembly
DeepSeek Workers (all model-backed EOT execution):
- Micro-EOT:
deepseek-v4-flash through _SYSTEM/Scripts/llm-compat.sh.
- Full EOT worker reviews:
deepseek-v4-pro:max-reasoning for high-stakes synthesis, deepseek-v4-flash for lightweight ledgers and smoke reflections.
- No Haiku or Sonnet workers in EOT.
- Main thread performs final synthesis directly from DeepSeek outputs and deterministic tool evidence.
Deterministic Tools:
transcript extraction · file inventory · diff generation · grep/search self-improvement docs · test/build/lint results · artifact list · TODO/FIXME collection · failure log extraction · duplicate section detection · markdown validation · checklist tally · evidence table generation

Phase 1 — Evidence Inventory
Collect: user requests, assistant responses, files uploaded/created/modified, tool calls, command outputs, tests/checks run, errors, citations, accepted assumptions, unresolved questions.

Phase 2 — Timeline Backtrack
Reconstruct what happened in order. Material decision points only — not every trivial message.

Phase 3 — Claim Double-Check
Audit important claims made during the session. If a response said "done," verify a file exists or a tool result supports it. If not, correct the record.
<claim_audit>
<claim status="verified | partial | unsupported | contradicted | not_checked">

Successes must be concrete: file generated, prompt consolidated, unsafe assumption removed, routing improved, test passed, issue documented.
Failures must be concrete: insufficient inspection, missed validation, overclaimed completion, wrong worker routing, unresolved ambiguity.

Phase 5.5 — MANGEKYO Evidence Hardening (MANDATORY)
Standard baked-in function of EOT. All session findings are hardened via mangekyo-sharingan protocol before becoming skill updates.
Apply mangekyo Phases 1-3 only (Observe, Decompose, Audit) to session evidence inventory and improvement review:
- Observe — Map the session artifacts and learnings
- Decompose — Extract underlying patterns vs. surface observations
- Audit — Ruthlessly examine weaknesses, assumptions, license/safety issues, architectural fit
Output:
<mangekyo_evidence_audit>
<source_map>Session findings summary, core patterns, hidden assumptions</source_map>
<decomposition>Technique extracted vs. property; reusable patterns identified</decomposition>
<weakness_audit>Categories: Architecture, Security, Reliability, Maintainability, Yuri/Yuri fit</weakness_audit>
<hardened_findings>Evidence-backed, architecture-verified, ready for skill transformation</hardened_findings>
</mangekyo_evidence_audit>
Routing:
- DeepSeek Pro worker → source map + decomposition
- DeepSeek Pro worker → weakness audit + hardening synthesis (background when possible)
- Main thread → integrate hardened findings into Phase 6
Why: Raw session learnings often reflect surface fixes, assumption-driven conclusions, or unmeasured claims. MANGEKYO audit hardens them into reusable, architecturally sound, Yuri-aligned patterns before they become skill updates. This phase eliminates weak learnings and elevates sound ones.
Phase 6 — Skill Refinement
A skill update must be: specific, triggerable, testable, short, connected to a failure/success/repeated pattern.
Good: Before claiming a generated artifact is done, run ls -l and inspect first lines or metadata.
Bad: Be more careful with artifacts.

Phase 7 — Self-Improvement System Update
Update current self-improvement system and related docs where allowed. If direct mutation is not safe or not possible, output a patch proposal — do not claim injection.

Phase 7.5 — LLM-Wiki Reflection (conditional, tiered memory)
Tiered memory integration — atoms created here feed Tier 3 (cold, semantic). Boot packet refresh (Phase 8) updates Tier 2 (warm, episodic). Main context remains Tier 1 (hot, in-session).
If system-overlays/karpathy-llm-wiki/ exists in the current project:
- Run
system-overlays/karpathy-llm-wiki/prompts/end-of-transmission-wiki-reflection.md.
- Extract durable learnings as atomic claims (source-backed only; max confidence 0.70 for session-derived claims without external source).
- Create or update wiki pages where evidence is sufficient.
- Append to
logs/ingest-log.md, logs/change-log.md, and update indexes.
- Flag core-system improvement candidates as recommendations only — do not mutate core files.
- If the overlay directory does not exist, skip this phase silently.
Micro-EOT note: In micro-EOT mode (background, auto-triggered), run Steps 1–3 only (collect → filter → atoms). Full wiki run (Steps 4–9) reserved for full EOT only.
This phase is non-blocking. If it errors or the overlay is absent, Phase 8 proceeds normally.
Phase 8 — Next Session Boot Packet

<must_remember></must_remember>
<open_threads></open_threads>
<recommended_first_actions></recommended_first_actions>
<do_not_repeat></do_not_repeat>
<artifacts_to_load_first></artifacts_to_load_first>
</next_session_boot_packet>
Phase 9 — Main Thread Synthesis
After deterministic/offloaded work is complete, main thread synthesises directly from DeepSeek worker outputs:
- final reflection summary
- corrected record of what happened
- skill refinement patch
- self-improvement update
- next-session boot packet
- remaining risks
Main thread must reject vague learning summaries and require evidence-backed updates. No additional Claude model spawn; synthesis performed on main thread using cached context from DeepSeek outputs.
Phase 10 — Pulse Cortex Archive Promotion (PATCH 039)
Promote high-signal pulse-bus findings to durable learning. Reads .claude/state/pulse-bus.json ring, filters to entries from this session (matching session_id or recent turn_ids), and writes a daily archive at _SYSTEM/SELF-IMPROVEMENT/pulse-archive/YYYY-MM-DD.json.
Filter rules:
- Keep all
severity >= WARN findings
- Keep all
source === 'CORTEX' (advisor disagreement markers)
- Keep all
source === 'YURI_RISK' strategic foresights regardless of severity
- Drop pure INFO findings from DeepSeek/OpenClaw (too noisy)
- Drop expired entries
Archive shape:
{
"date": "YYYY-MM-DD",
"session_id": "...",
"commits": ["sha1", "sha2"],
"findings": [
{
"ts": "...",
"turn_id": "...",

"finding": "...",
"runtime_kind": "model_advisor|bridge_advisory|native_function|meta",
"outcome_marker": null
}
],
"telemetry": {
N
M
K
This archive becomes the calibration corpus for Innovation A (pulse memory + learning loop). After 100+ archived findings, classifier heuristics in Scripts/llm-compat-contract.mjs can be tuned against actual outcomes rather than vibes.
Implementation note for Phase 10 worker: read .claude/state/pulse-bus.json, filter, write archive, then call bash .claude/state/pulse-bus.json:resetForNewSession equivalent via the Node module (see .claude/hooks/pulse-bus.js resetForNewSession).
After archive write, record Amp usage telemetry:
node Scripts/amp-usage-tracker.mjs
This appends a dated entry to _SYSTEM/amp-usage-log.md (credits remaining + thread count). Non-blocking — if amp is unavailable, log the error and continue.

MANGEKYO Phase 1-2: Observe session evidence + decompose into reusable patterns vs. surface observations. Output: source map + decomposition table.
MANGEKYO Phase 3: Audit hardened evidence for weaknesses (architecture, security, reliability, maintainability, Yuri fit). Synthesize into evidence-backed findings ready for skill transformation. IMPORTANT: Write final output to the output_file path using write_file tool so main thread can read it after background completion.
Draft success, failure, partial, and risk ledgers from evidence (informed by Phase 5.5 hardening). IMPORTANT: Write final output to the output_file path using write_file tool so main thread can read it after background completion.
Draft skill patch candidates with trigger, rule, validation, and evidence (operating on Phase 5.5 hardened findings). IMPORTANT: Write final output to the output_file path using write_file tool so main thread can read it after background completion.
Run LLM-Wiki EOT reflection: extract session atoms, update wiki pages, update indexes, append logs. Prompt: system-overlays/karpathy-llm-wiki/prompts/end-of-transmission-wiki-reflection.md. Skip silently if overlay absent.
Perform final synthesis of ledgers, skill patches, and self-improvement updates. No Claude model spawn; main thread synthesizes from DeepSeek worker and deterministic-tool outputs.

2026-04-26 (v2: Continuous Background EOT)
- EOT v2 implementation: auto-triggered micro-EOT, Claude-worker removal, tiered memory integration
- changes: added auto-trigger conditions (≥15 tool calls, context ≥60%, error recovery, cycle completion)
- added micro-EOT mode, now routed through DeepSeek workers and written to
.claude/eot/continuous/
- removed Claude-worker EOT routing: eot-005/005b use DeepSeek Pro, eot-006/007 use DeepSeek Flash, eot-009 remains main-thread synthesis
- updated Phase 7.5: tiered memory framing, micro-EOT wiki atom creation limited to steps 1-3
- updated frontmatter description, Full Auto Permission Grant, Execution Model, routing table
- harmony with Karpathy wiki: continuous atom creation via every micro-EOT, not just full EOT
- model routing enforcement: EOT uses DeepSeek lanes only; no Haiku or Sonnet EOT workers

PATCH 005 — Stay in session through Codex rate-limit windows
Skill: end-of-transmission / session lifecycle
Trigger: Codex returns SKIPPED_OR_RATE_LIMITED during any multi-dispatch pipeline
Rule: Do NOT end the session and start a new one when Codex hits a rate limit. Session startup
overhead (hooks, tool loads, palace inject, model warm-up) costs 2-3min per session. A Codex
rate-limit window is only 5-10min. During the window: dispatch DeepSeek analysis, run llama3.2
local tasks, do git/gitnexus/deterministic work. Quota auto-resets; resume Codex in same session.
Only EOT when context window forces it (80%+) or user explicitly requests it.
Validation: No new session spawned within 15min of a Codex rate-limit event.
Evidence: 2026-05-14 — multiple parallel Codex dispatches (EOT 6 artifacts + Q-2 + Q-4 + hook fix)
saturated burst quota. Subsequent sessions required re-paying startup overhead unnecessarily.
