Test-Driven Development Workflow

This skill ensures all code development follows TDD principles with comprehensive test coverage.

When to Activate

• Writing new features or functionality
• Fixing bugs or issues
• Refactoring existing code
• Adding API endpoints
• Creating new components
• After claiming a sudocode issue (integrates with sudocode-workflow)

Sudocode Integration

When working on a sudocode issue, TDD fits into Phase 3 (Execute):

1. Claim issue: upsert_issue <id> status=in_progress
2. Load context: show_issue <id>, show_spec <linked-spec>
3. Apply TDD workflow (this skill)
4. On completion: add_feedback to spec, close issue

Key integration points:

• Issue acceptance criteria → Test cases
• Spec requirements → User journeys
• Test results → Evidence in feedback

Core Principles

1. Tests BEFORE Code

ALWAYS write tests first, then implement code to make tests pass.

2. Coverage Requirements

• Minimum 80% coverage (unit + integration + E2E)
• All edge cases covered
• Error scenarios tested
• Boundary conditions verified

TDD Workflow Steps

Step 1: Write User Journeys

Step 2: Generate Test Cases

For each user journey, create comprehensive test cases:
