Limited Quantity = small packages of certain hazmat allowed under relaxed rules.

Limited Quantity (LTD QTY)

Identified in HMT column 8a. Specific packaging requirements. LTD QTY mark on package. Reduced labeling.

Consumer Commodity

Formerly ORM-D (eliminated 2021). Now uses Limited Quantity rules. Common: nail polish, hairspray, perfumes, lithium-ion batteries in consumer electronics.

Benefits

• Reduced shipping paper requirements
• Mark only (not full hazmat label)
• Carrier can transport without H endorsement (depends on aggregate)
