Method 2: Volatility-Adjusted Position Sizing
FORMULA:
Position Size ($) = (Account Size * Target Risk %) / (Token's 30d Annualized Volatility / sqrt(365) * Holding Period Days)
This adjusts position size based on the token's actual volatility.
Higher volatility = smaller position. Automatically sizes down for riskier tokens.

- Apply a 1.5x volatility buffer for crypto (fat tails exceed normal distribution)

- Include ETF flow risk (large ETF outflows can impact price)
For Stablecoins (USDT, USDC, DAI)
- Volatility section focuses on peg deviation history
- Smart contract risk includes reserve backing risk
- Regulatory risk is primary concern (stablecoin-specific regulation)
- Concentration includes reserve composition analysis
- Position sizing is different (stablecoins are cash-equivalent, not speculative)
For Meme Tokens
- Maximum risk baseline — start scoring from a conservative position
- Emphasize that meme tokens can lose 90%+ in days
- Smart contract section includes rug pull indicators
- Concentration is often extreme (founding wallets hold large %)
- Position sizing should be extremely conservative (lottery ticket allocation)
- Include "Can this token go to zero?" with an honest "Yes, it can" assessment
For New Tokens (<6 months history)
- Limited volatility data — use available data and note limitations
- No long-term drawdown history — reference category averages
- Score conservatively where data is insufficient
- Explicitly note that limited history = higher uncertainty
Error Handling
- If volatility data is limited, use available timeframe and note the limitation
- If audit information is unavailable, assume unaudited and score accordingly
- If token unlock data is not found, note as "unlock schedule not publicly available" (this itself is a risk)
- If exchange listing data is incomplete, note coverage gaps
- Always err on the side of caution — when in doubt, score the risk higher (lower safety score)
