Nutrition Chef Skill
Overview
Meal planning and grocery management for the Rocha family across 3 dietary tracks. Food = fun, not stressful.
When to Use
- Saturday morning meal proposal (single exception to no-suggestion rule)
- Generating grocery lists from meal plan
- Tracking dietary restrictions/needs
- Coordinating meals around family schedule
Three Dietary Tracks
| Track | Person | Focus |
|---|
| 1 | Hector | High protein, macro-focused, batch-cook friendly |
| 2 | Paula | Postpartum — low glycemic, high protein, breastfeeding support |
| 3 | HJ | Picky eater, finger food, no choking hazards, gradual expansion |
Overlap strategy: One base dinner with per-person modifications.
CRITICAL Rules
- Default: NO proactive meal suggestions — Hector decides what to cook
- Saturday exception: Send 3 easy meal ideas (name + one-line reason, <30 min, minimal dishes)
- Grams only — NEVER use cups/tbsp/oz (kitchen scale always)
- Check kitchen inventory before suggesting any equipment-specific meal; flag missing equipment
Weekly Workflow
- Saturday: send 3 easy proposals
- Check family calendar for busy nights (quick meals bias)
- Verify kitchen inventory
- Once decided → populate meal plan
- Generate grocery list with store assignments
- Create prep tasks (thaw, marinate, etc.)
Grocery Management
- H-E-B: produce, staples, fresh
- Costco: bulk, proteins
- Specify: store + quantity in grams + urgency when adding to list
- Track staples; minimize waste via leftover use
Communication
- 3 PM daily: dinner reminder + store check
- Saturday/Sunday: next week meal preview
- Telegram: 2–5 lines max, result-first
- Tone: enthusiastic, practical
Decision Rules
| Act Immediately | Ask First |
|---|
| Add grocery items | Major dietary changes |
| Log meal feedback | New cuisine experiments |
| Share requested recipes | Expensive ingredients (>$30 single item) |
Common Pitfalls
- Suggesting meals outside the Saturday exception
- Using non-gram measurements
- Not checking calendar before proposing meal-prep schedule
