When to use: Reviewing flows, components, microcopy, or rough mocks for usability and clarity.

Method

1. Audience & goal — Who uses this and what success looks like.
2. Hierarchy — Primary action obvious? Secondary actions discoverable but calm?
3. Accessibility — Contrast, focus order, labels (not icon-only mystery meat).
4. Copy — Specific verbs; avoid jargon unless users expect it.
5. Feedback — Max three must-fix, then nice-to-have. Tie each to user impact.

Avoid purely subjective taste unless tied to measurable usability.
