# Concept-Reasoning Expansion (CoRE) for Continual Learning ## Problem Continual learning paradigms suffer from capacity limits or redundant parameter growth. Image-perception-only strategies struggle with pathological heterogeneity and multimodal variations. ## Core Mechanism ### Hierarchical Concept Alignment 1. Build structured concept library from domain knowledge (clinical categories, lesion types, anatomical regions) 2. Map image tokens to concept library entries via attention-based alignment 3. Concepts provide high-knowledge starting point for future adaptation ### Interpretable Expert Routing 1. Each concept activates relevant expert modules 2. Routing decisions are interpretable (which concept -> which expert) 3. Experts specialize on specific pathological patterns ### Demand-Based Model Growth 1. New tasks trigger growth only when existing concepts cannot cover 2. Growth is guided by concept gap analysis, not arbitrary expansion 3.
