Know who's looking before you write what they'll read.
Who: Designing a room around a feeling. Looking for the right piece for a specific wall. Needs: Size guidance, room mockups, color palette compatibility Language: "Would this work in a living room?" "What size for above a sofa?"
Who: Feels something in front of landscapes. Wants to live with the image, not just see it. Needs: The story behind the shot, the moment, the feeling Language: "Where was this taken?" "I've been there" "This reminds me of..."
Who: Shopping for someone else. Needs confidence that it's a good gift. Needs: Gift-worthy presentation, shipping reliability, return policy Language: "Is this a good gift for..." "Does it come ready to hang?"
Who: Buys art regularly. Knows quality. Wants to know about the artist. Needs: Artist bio, edition info, print quality details, archival specs Language: "Limited edition?" "What paper/ink?" "Signed?"
The emotional-hook-test evaluates whether a page makes a viewer feel drawn in, trusting, and ready to act. These personas tell you which viewer you're testing for.
